Nordic Cryo-EM Network
Connecting world-class cryogenic electron microscopy facilities across the Nordic countries to advance structural biology research
cryoNET is a collaborative network connecting cryogenic electron microscopy facilities across the Nordic countries. Our mission is to advance structural biology research by facilitating access to cutting-edge cryo-EM technologies, promoting knowledge sharing, and fostering collaboration between researchers and institutions.
Established with funding from leading research foundations, Novo Nordisk Foundation (Denmark) and Knut and Alice Wallenbergs Foundation (Sweden), our network brings together expertise from multiple facilities to solve complex structural biology challenges and drive innovation in the field.
World-class cryo-EM centers across Denmark and Sweden
The Danish National Cryo-EM Facility located at Aarhus University's iNANO institute, with a co-hosting agreement at Copenhagen University.

SciLifeLab Cryo-EM Swedish Infrastructure Unit providing state-of-the-art equipment and expertise in single particle cryo-EM and cryo-tomography.
A university and national resource for research and higher education in electron microscopy techniques, hosting the SciLifeLab Cryo-EM Umeå node.

A microscopy core facility offering open access to a broad range of light and electron microscopy technologies across scales.
Workshops, symposia, and training courses
Stockholm, Linköping, Lund, and Gothenburg, Sweden
A two-week SciLifeLab and NordStruct course introducing a wide range of structural biology techniques (cryo-EM, NMR, crystallography, SAXS/SANS, structural proteomics, AlphaFold) available at research infrastructures in Sweden. Combines lectures, site visits, and hands-on sessions.
University of Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark
The 9th Annual CryoNET Symposium will be hosted at the University of Copenhagen. More details, including the programme and registration information, will be announced soon.
KBC Building, Umeå University, Umeå, Sweden
A full-week hands-on workshop for intermediate and advanced users covering state-of-the-art single-particle cryoEM image processing, model building and validation, and tomographic workflows. Limited to 20 participants with active cryo-EM projects.
Copenhagen Biocenter, University of Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark
Half-day DanScatt satellite meeting (9:30–12:15) on integrative structural biology, immediately preceding the DanScatt Annual Meeting. Invited speakers describe how their methods integrate with other structural biology and biophysical techniques.
Rotundan, Umeå University, Sweden
The symposium will highlight the latest discoveries facilitated by cryo-EM research and new directions that are emerging, through a panel of distinguished speakers. Furthermore, selected talks by participants and an interactive poster session will facilitate networking and insights to local expertises.
